Periwinkles were pulled or cut to the ground after frost blackened their top leaves. Nicotiana that was cut in early summer is starting to bloom again. Lavender lantana has taken much of the front side, but will die back some when hard freezes come along with salvia leucantha.

Bulbine, yellow on the north end and orange on the south end, is starting to bloom again. As I pulled periwinkles, I scratched out little areas and sprinkled viola, mixed corn and breadseed poppy, Iceland poppy and larkspur seeds -- all saved seed.

Crape myrtle leaves turned orange and are quickly shedding.
